About Us

Pride Foundation

The Pride Foundation Scholarship Program began with a 1992 bequest from Brian M. Day that established a scholarship for Puget Sound gay men of color. Since then Pride Foundation has awarded over $1.65 million to nearly 900 scholarship recipients. Pride Foundation now manages over 50 scholarships, including the Cole Family Scholarship for students raised in lesbian and gay families, Obrzut Ling for students enrolled in trade or vocational training programs, James & Colin Lee Wozumi Scholarships for students that are HIV positive and/or studying to help treat or eradicate HIV, and Scott Rodriguez Scholarships for students involved in leadership activities or participatory athletics.

Pride Foundation inspires a culture of generosity that connects and strengthens Northwest organizations, leaders, and students who are creating LGBTQ equality. Since our founding in 1985, Pride Foundation has put more than $8 million to work building equality for our LGBTQ community. Thousands of people join with us every year, knowing that their gift to Pride Foundation helps many organizations and students.
